A special date has been set for Patrick Thomas's London show at Nelly Duff. October 9th 2008 is an important date for (Barcelona-based) Patrick as it falls on the 51st anniversary of Che Guevara's death in 1967. Patrick was part of the 50th anniversary show at the V&A with his 'American Investment in Cuba' piece. Incredibly the date also falls on the birthday of fellow liverpudlian John Lennon who has been another major subject for Patrick's artwork with his series entitled "Kalashnikov / Rickenbacker (Remembering J.L.)" which he made on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Lennon's death (8 December 2005). He describes the image as follows: "The Rickenbacker (Lennon's guitar) and the Kalashnikov AK-47 are both weapons of revolution."
