Come in from the cold this Wednesday at Nelly Duff for late night Christmas openings on Columbia Road, until 9pm :)

Columbia Road 'Christmas Wednesdays' 2012!

The first ‘Christmas Wednesday’ of the festive season kicks off this week, when Nelly Duff and all other independent traders of Columbia Road will open until 9pm, every Wednesday up until Christmas Day!

Not on your Nelly!

Now those in the know will already be aware that the name Nelly Duff is derived from cockney rhyming slang, and indeed Nelly is a true British gal!

At the gallery we pride ourselves on our own in-house print production, working with an array of London based artists and print-makers to produce the distinctive artworks that make us so proud :)

Yet you don't have to go far to come across an ever growing sense of discenchantment, with regards to home grown craftmanship- take Aditya Chakrabortty's recent Guardian piece entitled 'Why Doesnt Britain Make Things Anymore?' However there are a few gems still sparkling, that are not 'Made in China.'

Birthplace of the old girl herself, Columbia Road is a hive of independent business, and ofcourse what could be more authentically 'London' than the Flower Market straight out of George Bernard Shaw! Recycle your Guardian and get yourself down for Christmas Wednesdays, when we will be open until 9pm, starting on the 30th!

What an amazing history columbia road has...  Nelly is just helping set a website up for the whole road which should be live in the next few weeks.  It will give a background and some history about about the flower market, going back over a hundred years...  Info on all the flowers sellers and lots more.  We will post links when the site is live, but just got to love these Black and white gems for now
